Being social (on your own terms) is a an important part of mental health recovery. Often mental health difficulties can make us feel isolated and lonely.
Building, extending, and maintaining social networks is dependent upon our access to social opportunities, public attitudes, and the level of mental health stigma and discrimination in society.
The dominance of technology in our lives has also led to limited opportunities to experience connectedness and belonging, in person, in the real world.
The ARCHES Social Hub meets weekly for an hour and a half to offer people one such opportunity to be social.
When we meet, we plan and take part in activities together (e.g. day trips, tea and coffee sessions, and social events), discuss what’s important to us, and offer each other mutual peer support.
People can join at any stage throughout the year. You do not need to register for the ARCHES Social Hub, just drop in any week.
